So often in dance, wellness is the last thing addressed—when injury strikes, or when burnout hits. At guiDANCE, we flip that script. From built-in wellness education at our events, to injury-prevention practices shared with teachers and parents, to backstage staff trained in YPAD protocols, we’re constantly asking the question: How can we keep our dancers well—physically, mentally, emotionally?

One of our favorite practices during competition weekends is our “check-in chats.” You’ll find our team backstage not just managing traffic—but checking in on dancers. “How are you feeling today?” “Do you need water?” These aren’t extras—they’re essential.
